Williamsburg Art & Historical Center

The Williamsburg Art and Historical Center was founded in 1996 by Yuko Nii based on the Bridge Concept, which is the concept of crossing a physical space as well as race and culture. When you are here with your New York car rental, you will find this is a multicultural center whose mission is to bridge the artistic community and create a bridge between local, national, and international artists of all disciplines.

Museum history

When you are here with your New York rental car, you will find that Williamsburg is a hub of artistic activity. Artists began to move here in the 1980s because of the low rent and the convenience of being close to the subway. Studios began to open in the area and weekend visitors, collectors, and others began to flock here to see what was being produced. The south side of Williamsburg, however, was still considered to be a "dangerous" place. In late 1996, Yuko Nii bought the Kings County Savings Bank Building at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, which was to become the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center. This was based on the Bridge Concept, which was a multifaceted and multicultural art center that was open to artists of all disciplines.
