Webster Hall

Webster Hall is a nightclub in New York City that you can visit with your Queens car rental. It is a combination of nightclub, concert venue, and corporate events center, as well as a recording venue. The roots

Webster Hall was originally built in 1886 and quickly became the country's first modern nightclub. It was a place that would have controversial speakers one night, and then host the city's elite the next. During prohibition, it was known as a speakeasy that local politicians and police seemed to turn a blind eye to. It is rumored that it was owned by mobster Al Capone for a while. After Prohibition was repealed, the hall started to move towards concerts with a number of different artists performing here. By the 1990s, the club was reborn. They updated it with state of the art audio, video, and lighting technology for a modern crowd.

What to expect

For more of a party atmosphere, you will also find stilt walkers, trapeze artists, tarot readers, fire breathers, go-go girls, and other spectacles throughout the club. The Grand Ballroom holds 1500 people. Some of the wildest parties in New York have taken place here over the 120 years of the club's existence. The Marlin Room is an art deco ballroom on the main floor of Webster Hal. 80s, 90s, and 00s are played here. The Studio can fit 300 people into its stage and dance floor in the basement of Webster Hall. This is where performances often take place, later followed by dancing.

Deals

Men over 21 are $15 before 11:30, and $25 after. Men under 21 are $25 all night. You pay only $15 if you buy your tickets in advance. On Fridays, cover is $25 at the door, or $15 in advance. Saturdays cover is $30 at the door or $15 in advance.

Before the show

Webster Hall is located near Union Square in New York City, which is at the intersection of Broadway and 4th Avenue. On the eastern side of the square, you will find the four Zeckendorf Towers. On the south side of the square is a mixed-use building, One Union Square. The square is noted for its equestrian statue of George Washington. There are also a number of other statues in the park to commemorate other important figures such as the Marquis de Lafayette, Abraham Lincoln, and Mahatma Ghandi. The square was long the center of political and social activism.
