Moulding the SculptureCenter from scratch

The SculptureCenter became a part of the New York art scene back in 1928. Known then as "The Clay Club," this small gallery quickly grew to become one of Queen's most important art institutions, offering workshops, classes and studio space to talented young artists. Today, customers of All Car Rent A Car in NYC will find the SculptureCenter inside a 9,000 square foot studio/apartment complex in Long Island City Queens. To find the SculptureCenter compound, follow Jackson Avenue until you reach Purves Street. SculptureCenter is located at 44-19 Purves Street.

Awarding young talent

The SculptureCenter is dedicated to helping aspiring young artists find their way in New York's challenging art scene. In order to do that, the center created the SculptureCenter Prize in 2001. This prize is awarded annually to a New York area artist who has produced a mature body of work and shows potential for further growth. There are no specific criteria for this reward in respect o age, medium or education, however, the recipient will be an artist who produces outstanding work and is under-recognized. The SculptureCenter Prize was established by a gift from Jourdan Arpelle and Henry Steinway Ziegler. Customers of All Car Rent A Car in NYC can learn more about the award by contacting the SculptureCenter directly.

Internships at SculptureCenter

Want to take your art to the next level during your upcoming rent a car in NYC vacation? Why not apply to become an intern at the SculptureCenter this summer? If you're a local artist looking for exposure, there's really no better place to begin. The SculptureCenter regularly looks for interns in the Marketing and Development areas of the center, as well as in operations, programming and visitor services. While unpaid, these internships provide participants with a firsthand look at how a successful gallery is run, as well as unlimited networking potential. Rent a car customers in NYC who are interested in an intern position should contact Nickolas Roudane at 718-361-1750 extension 110.
