Park Slope is located near Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where you will always find something going on. Park Slope is a neighborhood known for its young, middle-class families who are just starting their families and the funky, artistic types that like to sip mimosas at the local restaurants. There is also Bar Reis, with its impressive wine selection, while Southpaw is where rock-and-roll fans will feel right at home. The Victorian Brownstones give the neighborhood a great feel and a special character, and the family-owned stores make any visitor feel right at home. At the park on Saturdays you can find the Green Markets at Grand Army Plaza and Bartel-Pritchard Circle bring some of the freshest produce, dairy, and meat right into the heart of Brooklyn. You can also find some rare finds here, such as blueberry wine. On Saturdays, the market is open 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. year-round at Grand Army Plaza and the Bartel-Pritchard Circle is open Wednesdays from April through November 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. This is a great place to stop with your New York car rental. There are also many tributes to the heroes of the Civil War around the park where you can explore some of the nation's history.
