Michael Rosenfeld Gallery

The Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is a gallery in Manhattan that you can visit with your passenger van rental. The gallery opened in 1989, and specializes in 20th century American art.

Gallery Mission

When you are here with your passenger rental van, you can see the mission of the gallery come to life. Their mission is to promote important movements in the history of art in the United States, as well as increase the visibility of American artists. The owners are historians of the art world and have developed a diverse exhibition program.

Exhibitions

The gallery has put on 130 exhibitions many of which were solo shows for various artists, including Jay DeFeo, Charles White, and Norman Lewis among others. When you visit with your van rental, you may find exhibitions on early American abstraction, realism, surrealism, and social realism. After leaving this gallery, many of the exhibitions have also gone on to other museums in the country.

When you are here with your passenger van rental, you will find New York has many art galleries that you can explore, from small, out of the way galleries to some of the biggest galleries in the country. You might be interested in visiting the Museum of Modern Art, which is located on 53rd Street. This is considered to be one of the most influential modern art museums. The works here include architecture, design, drawings, paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, illustrated books, and electronic media by famous artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. They are open Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30-5:30; and Friday from 10:30-8:00. There are some special exception where they are open later on Thursday as well, so check out their website. Admission is $20 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $12 for students with current ID. Children are free. Admission is free on Target Free Fridays Nights, which is held every Friday evening from 4-8 p.m.

The Whitney

The Whitney Museum of American Art focuses on 20th and 21st century American art and is located on Madison Avenue with your passenger rental van. This museum is particularly devoted to displaying the works of living artists for its collection, and has a permanent collection of many important pieces from the first half of the century. Their website also features “Net Art”, which changes monthly. The museum is open Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11-6, and Friday from 1-9. Admission is $18 for adults; $12 for those 19-25, seniors, and full time students; and free for those under 18. On Fridays after 6 p.m., admission is pay-what-you-wish.
