New York Car Rental and Luna Lounge, Brooklyn
Luna Lounge in Brooklyn is an independent live music venue that you can visit with your New York rental car.
Visit one of New York’s hottest live music venues
Luna Lounge was once a Lower East Side bar that fit about 90 people. Every night except Monday you could find a live band there. Mondays were comedy night, with some future big names performing there. Ed Helms, Jon Stewart, and Sarah Silverman all performed at the Lower East Side bar. In 2005, the lease ran out on the old location, and the bar relocated to Williamsburg, which you can now visit with your New York rental car. This is a much larger venue and there are no columns to block your view of the stage.
Plan your visit
When you come with your New York rental car, approach the Williamsburg Bridge from Delancey Street. Stay in the lane that is second to the right and take the “S. 5 Street” exit. Turn left onto Havemeyer and cross under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. About seven blocks from here you will come to Metropolitan Avenue. Luna Lounge is on the north side of the street. If you prefer to take the subway, there are several lines that service the area, including the L train, J train, and G train. It is always a good idea to leave your New York rental car behind if you plan on having a few drinks.
Hook up with a great band
The Hook is a hot club in the trendy Red Hook area of Brooklyn that you can visit with your New York rental car. The Hook has been an instant draw for musicians in the area, making some people question whether the Red Hook neighborhood will follow Williamsburg in the tradition of being a great musical outlet. The music here varies by night, with everything from Electronica DJs to old-school reggae.
Break through the force
Magnetic Field is located across the street from the ultra popular Last Exit with your New York rental car on Atlantic Avenue in the Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill area. Happy hour at Magnetic Field takes place every week day until 8 p.m. There are $3 pints of select draft beers and well drinks. From Sunday to Thursday there is also another happy hour from 2 a.m. until close. But Tuesday is the best night because it is Never Ending Happy Hour! There are $3 draft beers and well drinks all night, so be sure to leave your New York rental car at home and take a cab.
Explore the neighborhood
The neighborhood in Brooklyn known as Williamsburg is an up-and-coming neighborhood to visit with your New York car rental. This area is known as a more spacious, cheaper version of the East Village, and sometimes it has that young, hip feel like a college campus. Start at Bedford Avenue, where you will find a number of restaurants, eclectic bars, and funky shops that are unique. The area is surrounded by a number of low-rise apartments and walk-ups, making it feel like a quaint neighborhood rather than a large urban center.
