Gershwin Theater

The George Gershwin Theater is a Broadway Theater located on West 51st Street in midtown Manhattan, right in the Paramount Building with your Queens car rental. Architecture of the theater

It is on the lower level of an office tower on the site of the historic Capitol Theater. It was operating under the name Uris Theater when it opened in 1972, and operated as a concert hall for a couple of years. The theater was named after George Gershwin, one of the greatest composers of American theater, as well as for his brother Ira Gershwin, a lyricist.

Inside the theater

If you would like to try your luck, they have a lottery policy. Twenty-six tickets are sold for $26.25 each through a lottery before the performance. You can sign up at the Gershwin Theater two and a half hours before show time and the winners are drawn by a representative two hours before the show. Grab a bite to eat

This is New York’s most famous speakeasy and is only a short walk to the theater. They have a special pre-theater dinner menu as well as free parking for six hours with your meal.
