A history of the piers

The Chelsea Piers were built back during the early 10th century as the solution to an ever growing shipping dilemma. The luxury liners of the early 1900's were simply too big for NYC's established ports, located south of 23rd Street. In order to solve this problem New York City actually removed a section of Manhattan's landscape in order to craft a highly advanced docking terminal.
