New York Car Rental and Celebrate! Brooklyn Festival
Celebrate Brooklyn is one of New York’s longest running, free, outdoor performing arts festivals that you can visit with your New York car rental. It has been a great asset for the performing arts community and has brought many people to Prospect Park after years of neglect. This is one of the great cultural attractions in the city.
Want to save money and have fun?
Celebrate Brooklyn is an eclectic festival that brings amateurs and internationally known performers over the course of the summer. The best part of the festival is that all of the performances are free! Nearly a quarter of a million people attend performances. You can be part of this as well with your New York car rental. There is also a membership program in place that includes express entry, reserved seating, and pre-concert receptions.
Sounds like music to my ears
Celebrate Brooklyn also has a music program that you can visit with your New York car rental. It was established for emerging artists that work in a variety of styles – including new music, jazz, pop, alt-rock, and hip hop. Some of the performers that have been here in the past include The Neville Brothers, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and Leela James.
Feel the music
Each season, Celebrate Brooklyn features performances by 3-5 dance companies, ranging from emerging artists to dance professionals. There is also the spoken word and theatre that you can see with your New York car rental. Full scale theater productions include the New York Shakespeare Festival, Sex, Drugs, and Rock n’ Roll, The Blue Man Group, and Brave New World Repertory Theater. There are also screenings on silent, animated, and short films that you can see while you Celebrate.
Feel good about supporting the arts
All performances are free for you to enjoy when you visit with your New York car rental, but a suggested donation of $3 per person is suggested so that they can continue to bring excellent performances every summer. This helps Celebrate Brooklyn to continue to bring some of the best talent directly to Brooklyn for all to enjoy. Most festivals continue to increase in price, while Celebrate Brooklyn remains free. This way, people who cannot normally afford to pay the price of a ticket are still able to see it and learn about the arts.
Enjoy New York’s prospects
Many of the performances at Celebrate Brooklyn take place at the bandshell in Prospect Park. This is a large public park in Brooklyn that you can visit with your New York car rental. It was designed by the same people that made Central Park. Some of the other attractions here include Long Meadow, the Picnic House, Prospect Park Zoo, the only lake in Brooklyn, as well as the Prospect Park Bandshell.
