All Car now accepts debit deposits

All Car Rent A Car willingly accepts debit card and cash deposits from Bronx rent a car customers; many other Bronx car rental companies refuse to accept anything other than credit card down payments. In other boroughs like Brooklyn and Queens, competing care rental companies often send customers with cash and debit card deposits to All Car Rent A Car locations.

When a car rental company rents a car, whether it is to a Bronx-based customer or one living elsewhere in New York, the car rental company wants their rental car returned in the same condition it was rented out in, and the car rental charge paid in full. Most car rental companies feel that customer who do not own a credit card are a higher risk of non-payment of rental car charges; there's also the belief that rental customers without a credit card pose and increased risk of not returning the Bronx rental car. All Car Rent A Car recognizes this risk; however, we are willing to accommodate Bronx area residents who require debit card and cash deposits. All Car Rent A Car does require Bronx customers who intend to leave cash or debit cards as deposits to leave a minimum deposit of $500 in addition to the anticipated cost of the car rental charges. This can be left in the form of cash or in the form of payment on the debit card. Please not that not all cars in the All Car rental fleet are available to those who require cash and debit card deposits. The addition of All Car Rent A Car to the Bronx community provides a previously underserved segment of the population with increased access to rental vehicles.

How to reserve a Bronx car rental on your debit car

When a customer uses a debit card to put a deposit on the rental of a car at All Car, the amount of the deposit is actually charged to the card, meaning that those monies come out of the customer bank account. When a credit card is used as a form of deposit to rent a car, All Car does not actually charge the card as the credit card companies prefer to hold that deposit amount for our rental company in the event a charge needs to be processed. Since a debit card is not a form of credit, the only way All Car Rent A Car can secure the deposit amount is by actually charging the debit card. When the rental car is returned to All Car, the difference between the rental car charges and what was taken off the debit card as a deposit is returned to the renter in the form of a credit. All Car Rent A Car returns the funds at the close of business on the day the rental was returned; however, it may take several days or even a week until the rental car customer has access to the returned monies. This delay is on the part of the debit card issuer and is beyond the control of All Car Rent A Car. This is the one downside to using a debit card as a deposit for a car rental as the renter may not have access to their funds while the car is actually on rent, and then again for a few days after the rental car is returned. This issue is not applicable with cash deposits as those deposits are refunded to the rental car customer upon return of the Bronx rental vehicle. It also does not apply when a credit card is used as a deposit for a car rental as the monies are only held by the rental car company and can be quickly returned to the car rental customer line of credit.
