Getting Out of the Bronx

April 22nd, 2012

As we approach the Spring and Summer, many New Yorkers begin to think of vacations, time spent outdoors and being away from the office. There are many ways one can get out of the Bronx this summer. Renting a cheap car in the Bronx is a great way to escape New York City in the summer. Discounts are available for Bronx residents at Allcar Rent A Car which has two locations Bronx residents can now rent a cheap car from.

Allcar Rent A Car has a Bronx rent a car office at 170 street and on 116 street in the heart of Harlem. Both of these Bronx rent a car locations feature a full line of available rental cars from the all new Fiat 500 to the stylish Ford Focus to the Chrysler mini vans and Ford 15 passenger vans. Renting a car in the Bronx is easy and fun. There are so many places one can travel to in style and comfort.

Nearly all of Allcar Rent A Car’s vehicles average 30 miles to the gallon of gas on the Highway and many do so while driving the streets of the Bronx as well. When you consider the cost of gasoline today as well as the high cost of owning a car, renting a car is a great alternative way to travel. A Bronx car rental will cost the Bronx resident between $50 and $60 a day. (15 passenger vans average $150 a day which is cheap when compared with other Bronx rent a car companies as well as the number of people travelling in the 15 passenger van). Of course the Bronx resident only pays for the rent a car on the days the car rental is actually rented.

When no car is needed, the rent a car is returned to Allcar Rent A Car and is left at the Bronx rent a car office. The $50 cost for a daily car rental is cheap many of the national rent a car chains charge significantly more. What’s more, Allcar Rent A Car has several discounts and coupons available both online and through various partners which can further reduce the already cheap daily car rental fees available at Allcar Rent A Car.

When you rent a car at the Bronx as an example, you start your trip as soon as you leave the car rental office. Unlike the process at the airports in Queens, where you must arrive at JFK or LaGuardia airports several hours before your flight, subject yourself to an intrusive security check, you are limited with the weight and number of bags which you can travel with and are served no food. When you rent a discount rent a car you travel at your leisure, when and where you want, stay as long as you want and avoid the long lines and hassles of air travel at the Queens airports of New York City.

NYC Summonses

April 22nd, 2012

New York City issues several hundred thousand parking violation summonses to cars, 15 passenger vans and trucks in all five boroughs of New York City each and every year. Drivers are issued summonses whether they rent the car, lease the car or own their own car. Cars and vans parked in Manhattan, Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn are all equally likely to be issued a parking citation for a variety of offenses.

It is a misconception that people, who rent a car in the Bronx as an example, can somehow avoid the cost of the New York City moving violation. When a New York City parking violation enforcement agent issues a summonses to a car rental in Queens as an example, the New York City Department of Finance contacts the car rental agency via mail or electronically and requests the name and address of the individual or corporation which rented the car on the date the summons was issued. New York City does this whether the car was rented within New York City or elsewhere.

The Department of Finance will then proceed to contact the renter of the car which was issued the summonses within the City of New York. The car rental customer will get a notice in the email for the violation amount. If the New York City car rental customer pays the fine within the prescribed time frame the rent a car customer can avoid any further fines and penalties. Should the fine not be paid, New York City will continue to pursue the renter of the car, be it rented in the Bronx, Queens or elsewhere while adding fines and penalties.

Interestingly, if the renter of the car happens to own a car of their own, it is possible that the New York City Department of Finance will tow or boot the New York City car renter’s private vehicle as the City has the right to pursue the renter and their assets.

The bottom line is that should you rent a car in New York City; whether it is in Brooklyn or the Bronx or any where in between and the car or 15 passenger van that you rent is issued a summons, pay the fine and avoid any further increases in the fine and/or possible legal action taken against you or your assets.
