Top Cars to Rent For Tall Drivers

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Being tall has plenty of advantages. It comes with increased sports prowess. You can are the go-to person for reaching things up high. You command a presence and are not easily intimidated. Tall men are often coveted and tall women are associated with long legs.

However, tall people have trouble fitting into a mid-sized world. They have to constantly watch their heads, look for “tall” pants, and have their feet dangle off the edge of the bed. And that’s not to mention twisting themselves into a pretzel to fit into most cars. Tall people live in a world where everything’s at least a size too small, and that includes their NY car rental. Four Wheel Drive – What Is It?

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Four-wheel drive, otherwise known as 4WD or 4×4 (“four by four”) is a four wheeled vehicle where all four wheels are able to receive torque from the engine simultaneously. What some people don’t know is that powering all four wheels can provide better control than normal road cars on many surfaces, which is why you should consider a four-wheel drive when picking out your Brooklyn budget car rental. Since cars move only when tires transfer engine power to the ground, it makes sense that a car that sends power to the ground through all four tires can have twice the traction and longitudinal force (the force that moves something forward). Read on for more information on why four-wheel drive is the way to go with your Brooklyn budget car rental. (more…)

Congressman Bob Turner

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

As a member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and a local business, I was invited to join several local Brooklyn Business owners to meet with Congressman Bob Turner. Congressman Turner was elected to Congress in a special election to fill the seat vacated by Anthony Weiner who resigned from his Congressional seat representing parts of Southern Brooklyn and Queens, New York.

We met in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn which is home to many local businesses and customers of Allcar Rent A Car. Allcar Rent A Car maintains two offices in the district. The main office of Allcar located on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn and our office in Queens, which is in Rego Park are both within the 9th Congressional District of Queens which is represented by Bob Turner.

It was an informative afternoon meeting where the local business owners were able to express to the Congressman the concerns we face as residents of New York City and specifically the neighborhoods we live and serve right here in Brooklyn. Jobs were a major topic of conversation and the struggle business owner’s face in finding qualified candidates for positions which remain open. I am happy to report that during the downturn in the economy, we at Allcar Rent A Car have been able to maintain the level of employment and we project to be looking to hire several New York City residents to join our staff providing economical car and 15 passenger van rentals to New York City business and consumers.

The Congressman discussed the gridlock which is gripping Washington between the Democrats and the Republicans. He shared with us his vision for growth for Brooklyn and Queens as well as the entire New York City. He tempered his remarks realizing that it will not be realistic to pass legislation under the current political climate.  He supported the initiative to pass the extensions of the lower tax rates under the payroll tax and revisions to the overall tax code system. Congressman Turner agreed with the local business owners for a need to ease some of the legislative and regulatory burden many small business owners face in running their businesses which impedes job growth.
