Since it’s topical I’ll share a story of a phone call I had with a customer recently about his experience getting a replacement car through Enterprise. The customer had been instructed to pick up a vehicle at the Coney Island Ave Enterprise via his insurance company, who was paying $50 a day. When the customer arrived at Enterprise after setting up an appointment to pick up a car, he was informed that they did not have any $50 a day cars, only SUVs that they could provide him for an extra $20 a day on top of what his insurance company was covering. His body shop told him his car was going to be worked on for at least 2 weeks – so he was milked for an extra $280. Obviously, the customer was unhappy with this bait and switch practice, but he needed a car so he completed the transaction and went about his business. (more…)
