Theater history

The Beacon Theater was conceived in 1926 as part of a chain of deluxe movie palaces, which you may learn when you visit with your rental car Queens. It was designed by Walter W. Ahlschlager as a 2894-seat movie theater as a sister theater to the famous Roxy Theater. Due to financial difficulties, the theater sat vacant for a while until it was acquired by Warner Theaters to show Warner Brothers films.
